This lesson will cover a very important aspect of creating dynamic and expressive art. And it’s very easy to understand which makes it simple to apply immediately to your process. When dealing with a subject there are curved and straight edges. How you interpret these edges will determine the overall feel of the artwork. It’s my humble opinion that curved edges look much stronger when converted into lines.
What You Need To Know
- How curved lines appear soft
- How hard or angled edges have a strong look
- How angles mingle with the edges of a rectangular surface (paper and canvas)
- This technique can be applied using charcoal, inks or any other medium
